Five H Farms is located in the agricultural central Valley of California about 2 hours south of Sacramento. A registered Hereford herd made up of a select group of highly productive, fertile and heavy milking, horned and polled Hereford females comprises Five H Farms and J-B Herefords, Cowherd Five H Farms Herefords and J-B Herefords was started in 2002 by Case Vyfhuizen and Joe Brazil Jr.

Case and his wife Melinda have operated Five H Farms dairy for many years.   Five H Farms consists of 2,000 commercial Holstein cows with another 2,000 replacement heifers on a state of the art dairy facility.   Case farms 1500 acres and grows much of the feed required for the Holsteins and the Registered Herefords.

Case's son, Case Jr. works on the dairy and has shown numerous Hereford champions throughout California over the past 9 years.

Joe Brazil, owner of the J-B Herefords grew up in western Merced county on a diversified dairy and livestock operation.   His family milked 500 commercial Holsteins, 200 registered Guernseys, ran 150 commercial beef cows and registered Hereford cows, and farmed 600 acres for 80 years in the same location.

Today, in addition to the Registered Herefords, Joe is the owner of Western Livestock Genetics, a dairy and beef bull semen company and is the exclusive distributor and broker for Excalibur Sire and several other dairy and beef studs. He markets semen and embryos throughout California and Nevada to some of the top dairies and ranches in the U.S. Prior to joining with Five H Farms, Joe bred Herefords on his own starting in 1975 with a 4H project.
